What it entails:
A precise, hands-on adjustment to restore proper motion in joints that have become restricted. Dr. Hurley targets not just the site of pain, but the surrounding joints and body mechanics that may be contributing to the issue. The science:
Restricted joints can alter movement patterns and place extra stress on surrounding muscles and tissues. Adjustments restore normal joint motion, which can reduce pain, improve mobility, and allow the nervous system to communicate more effectively with the rest of the body. -
What it entails:
A non-invasive treatment that delivers acoustic pulse waves to areas of chronic pain or soft tissue injury, often used for tendon and ligament issues that haven't responded well to rest alone. The science:
Shockwave therapy stimulates blood flow and triggers the body's natural healing response in tissue that has stalled in the repair process. It's also been shown to activate the body's own stem cells at the site of injury, helping regenerate healthy tissue rather than just masking pain. It's particularly effective for chronic tendon conditions, breaking the cycle of inflammation and incomplete healing. -
What it entails:
A thin needle is inserted into tight or overactive muscle tissue (trigger points) to release tension and restore normal muscle function. The science:
Dry needling creates a local twitch response that helps reset the muscle, improve blood flow, and reduce the pain signals coming from that tissue. It's especially effective for muscles that stay chronically tight despite stretching or rest. -
What it entails:
A specialized cuff is applied to an arm or leg during light-load exercise, partially restricting blood flow to the muscle while you train. The science:
BFR allows you to build strength and muscle using significantly lighter loads than traditional training, making it ideal during rehab when heavier loading isn't appropriate. Research shows it can produce strength gains comparable to heavy resistance training, without the added joint stress. -
What it entails:
Hands-on techniques, including Active Release Technique (ART), cupping, and scraping (IASTM), used to address tight, restricted, or scarred soft tissue that adjustments alone can't fully resolve. The science:
Muscles, fascia, and tendons can develop adhesions and restrictions after injury, overuse, or repetitive strain, limiting blood flow and normal movement. These techniques break up that restricted tissue, improve circulation, and help restore the muscle's full range of motion, allowing it to heal and function the way it's supposed to. -
What it entails:
A targeted set of exercises, prescribed and coached in-office, designed to rebuild strength, stability, and body mechanics around your specific injury or limitation. The science:
Passive treatments like adjustments and soft tissue work can reduce pain and restore motion, but lasting results come from retraining the body to move and load correctly. Rehab exercises reinforce those changes, building the strength and control needed to prevent the issue from coming back and to actually improve performance long-term.

The Groundwork Visit is a free, 30-minute, in-person consultation designed to get a clear picture of what's going on and whether Core House is the right fit for you. It's not a full exam, but it gives Dr. Hurley enough insight into your concerns and movement to outline what care could look like moving forward. You'll leave knowing exactly what's next, whether that's a full Initial Visit to build your care plan, or simply peace of mind that you're pointed in the right direction.
